Why Sales Socrates?

Socrates

Know Thyself

Socrates attempted to establish an ethical system based on human reason rather than theological doctrine. He pointed out that human choice was motivated by the desire for happiness. Ultimate wisdom comes from knowing oneself.

The more a person knows, the greater his or her ability to reason and make choices that will bring true happiness. I believe that knowledge about yourself comes from others and Socratic selling styles always include asking questions that reveal opportunities to better serve clients.

Socrates said “I can’t teach anyone anything  I can only make them think” I think this is the issue with training salespeople they are on their own you can’t train them for every situation. A good salesperson can think on his or her feet. Most companies would agree that spending more money on sales training will not prove to have a good return on investment because they can not measure the results.

I have a different way of looking at it. I think there is real value in training sales professional to think and act like marketing specialists. In professions where compliance is rigid its a little tough but marketing activities can be tested measured and improved you can measure return on investment.

So this is what I am passionate about, making life easier for sales people by educating them in marketing and giving them two hats to wear sales professional and marketing specialist or another way to put it is this they can be their own set up man and closer!
